We want your pup to feel comfortable even in an unfamiliar environment, and we have plenty of love, patience, and warmth to offer ❤️ ❌ No pet pickup or drop-off service ✅ 24-hour companionship available — feel free to ask! If we need to step out, your pet will be kept in a safe, separate space. 【In-home pet boarding — pet sitter Donna】

I work from home most of the time, and there are other family members at home too — though I do go out occasionally for errands, usually for 2–3 hours at a time. (Pets in day care will never be left unsupervised or without company.) I have four medium-sized mixed-breed dogs at home, and I’ll decide whether to separate them from boarding guests based on how they get along. ⚠️ Please note‼️ As this is a multi-pet household, if your pet doesn’t get along with dogs, short-term boarding is not recommended to avoid stress. 🔸 I take a maximum of 1–2 guests at a time (depending on pet size). Boarding pets will have access to at least 8 ping of independent plus shared activity space, and all play and sleeping areas are fully non-slip. 🔸 Pets will have human company most of the time. Space layout: 1F: kitchen and living room — shared daytime play area, fully non-slip, approx. 11 ping excluding staircase. 2F: sleeping area for resident and boarding dogs (separated by pen), approx. 1 ping per dog. 3F: resident cats’ rest area (not accessible to boarding dogs). 4F: rooftop terrace with gated access, also used as the resident dogs’ toilet area. Stairs are fully non-slip. ✔️ Photo updates throughout the stay ✔️ Customized care ✔️ No crating, but pen separation required during sleep; security camera in place ✔️ Daily interactive play and companionship ✔️ Dogs taken outside at least twice daily ✔️ Feeding in accordance with owner’s diet plan ✔️ One serving of homemade fresh healthy afternoon snack provided daily ✔️ Experience giving oral medication, eye drops, and topical treatments ✔️ Kittens accepted ✔️ Puppies accepted ✔️ Senior dogs accepted ✔️ Shy dogs accepted ✔️ New clients are encouraged to book a day visit first so their pet can get familiar with the environment. Donna’s in-home pet boarding is ideal for dogs that need small-group care, no crating, walks and plenty of space, companionship, and owners who want regular updates.

Choosing between a pet hotel and a pet sitter

Both pet hotels and pet sitters are great options for caring for your pet — the right choice depends on your individual needs and circumstances. If you need to be away from home for an extended period, or you’d like your pet to experience life in an outside environment, a pet hotel or in-home boarding could be a great fit. At a pet hotel, pets receive professional care and management, get to socialize with other dogs, and can play and learn alongside others. With in-home boarding, pets enjoy one-on-one, cage-free, and fully customized care. Both options include regular updates for owners so you can travel with peace of mind. If you only need to be away briefly, or your pet doesn’t adapt well to new environments, an in-home pet sitter is likely the better choice — the sitter comes to your home, minimizing stress from environmental changes and allowing your pet to receive personalized care in a familiar setting.

Pet sitter & pet hotel FAQs

1. How does an in-home pet sitter access your home when you’re away?

Through a pre-arranged home visit, the sitter can meet your pet for the first time, get familiar with the care environment, and learn where food bowls, litter boxes, and cleaning supplies are kept — as well as get to know your pet’s personality. During the visit, you and the sitter can discuss how to hand over a key; many owners arrange this through their building’s front desk. You can also verify the sitter’s identity through platform verification, set up a home security camera, and check the sitter’s reviews for added peace of mind.

2. How are pet sitters screened? Can you trust a stranger?

All pet sitters on the Fluv platform are animal lovers with experience in pet ownership and/or volunteering. They go through identity verification and training before they can become a pet sitter. You can also use Fluv’s review system to read ratings and comments from other owners, so you can choose a sitter you truly feel confident about.

3. Who is responsible if my pet gets hurt?

Every booking on the pet sitter platform includes insurance coverage. If an accident occurs during care, the pet sitter is responsible for compensation, with a deductible of NT$5,000. For costs exceeding the deductible, Cathay Century Insurance provides additional medical expense coverage of up to NT$15,000.

4. My pet is very shy — is a pet sitter or pet hotel still suitable?

If your pet is shy or takes time to warm up, a pre-arranged home visit lets them meet the sitter for the first time in a low-pressure setting, helping build trust gradually. If you still have concerns, you and the sitter can discuss together whether the arrangement is a good fit. If your pet is aggressive, a pet sitter service may not be appropriate — this protects both the sitter and your pet from potentially stressful or dangerous situations.

5. My pet needs medication or wound care — can a pet sitter help?

For any special needs, look for a pet sitter whose profile specifically lists medical care skills. You can also discuss the details when booking, and clearly communicate all medical care instructions to the sitter or hotel in advance.

6. When would you need pet boarding, a pet hotel, or a pet sitter?

As a pet owner — whether you have a cat or a dog — there will be times when you need to travel and can’t bring your pet along.

7. Which type of pet boarding is best for your furry family member?

If you’re not lucky enough to have nearby friends or family who can look after your pet for a few days (or weeks), you’ll probably need to book a pet boarding service — so what kind of price range are we talking? The honest answer isn’t so straightforward. Based on various factors including location, pet size, and service type, pet boarding prices can range from NT$500 to NT$3,000. As a responsible pet owner, your job is to figure out which type of boarding or care is the best fit for your cat or dog.

8. How much does a pet hotel, pet boarding, or pet sitter cost?

Several key factors affect the cost of pet boarding: The first is your location — if you live in a large city or a popular tourist area, demand is higher and prices at nearby pet hotels or boarding services will generally be higher. Even in smaller towns or rural areas, prices can be elevated simply because there are fewer options, allowing providers to maintain higher rates with less competition. Another factor is your pet’s size — cats tend to be more uniform in size, but a dog’s size can significantly affect pricing, especially for medium to large dogs. Ultimately, though, the most important factor is the type of boarding you choose. There are many different options available, and the right one comes down to your pet’s needs and how much you’re able to spend.

【Closing thoughts】 The above is an overview of pet hotels and pet sitters in Taichung’s Taiping District. We hope this helps pet owners make a more informed choice. When deciding between a pet hotel and a pet sitter, take your own needs and situation into account, ask detailed questions about what each service includes, arrange an introductory visit or home visit, and make sure your pet will receive the best possible care.
