From California pet sitters to Japanese pet sitters apps.
Volunteer cat protection activities started in the summer of 2023.
Volunteering for this cat protection activity was a major trigger that led to the establishment of Fluv Japan. My main work is remote work, and I almost always stay at home, so I often take care of multiple kittens that haven't been weaned yet at the same time, but during the period when they drink milk, they give them milk every few hours, and even when baby food starts, they feed them 4 to 5 meals a day. Therefore, it is not easy for suckers to stay away from home for a long time until they are completely weaned.
On the other hand, since I also work, there are times when sudden outings and business trips occur, and during that time, I was struggling to find friends who could take care of my kittens. So, I thought about asking a pet sitter, but I didn't know which service to use, and even after making inquiries and exchanging several times to request a quote, I often couldn't find a pet sitter at the desired time. Or rather, in the end, I was never actually able to make a request. It takes time and effort to make requests, but I can't find a pet sitter. I met Candace just when I wanted to be able to find pet sitters more easily, and if there wasn't a good service, I was thinking about making my own. I sympathized with the thoughts on pets and Fluv's philosophy, and was impressed by the convenience of being able to easily and safely search for pet sitters on the app, so I founded Fluv Japan because I wanted to expand Fluv in Japan.
Fluv is already a proven pet care service in Taiwan and Hong Kong. While utilizing our know-how and advantages in Taiwan and Hong Kong, we will continue to provide customized services to Japan that match Japanese business practices.
There are scenes where I want to spend as much time with my precious family as possible, and even so, I have to have them stay home. We feel uneasy about each other when we are away, and we want them to live a safe and comfortable home care-taker life, and we believe it is our mission to enhance the Japanese pet care market by providing such a situation through Fluv.
Fluv started with a simple yet powerful goal of “creating a world where all pets are loved and cherished, no matter where their owners are.” The founder, Candace (Candace), who lived in Los Angeles at the time, saw how anxious his pets were every time he left his dog or cat at a pet hotel, and he was always searching for other means. I can't find pet care I can trust, and I'm just worried about my pets even when I'm traveling. Meanwhile, one day I found an app to connect to a pet sitter, and I was able to feel secure as an owner. As a result, I started working as a sitter because I wanted to be useful to other pets and their owners.
Meanwhile, in Japan and the Asian region, the reality was that pet care services that can be left with peace of mind are not very popular. Therefore, Candace moved to Asia, made up her mind and launched “Fluv,” a platform where animal lovers can gather and work, with the goal of providing a means for as many pets as possible to be loved. The name Fluv means “fluffy love (fluffy love).”
On an occasion, Candace met Hiromi, a Japanese co-founder. Hiromi loves animals very much and is also the owner of the influencer dog “Kurumi,” which has over 100,000 followers. Also, while Hiromi volunteers to take care of protected cats, she is also diligently searching for foster parents. Similar to Candace, she couldn't find a pet sitter she could trust during business trips or trips, etc., and she strongly felt the need for pet care services that she could use with greater peace of mind.
With a common goal, Candace and Hiromi established Fluv in Japan. We continue to aim for a world where all pets are loved and cared for. In 2023, innovative initiatives in the pet care industry were evaluated, and founder Candace was selected as “30 Under 30” by Forbes Asia. Currently, not only is it continuing to reform the way pet care is done across Asia through Fluv, but it also provides an application environment where pet owners can easily find reliable, and loving sitters, and above all else, they can leave their precious pets with sincere peace of mind.
