1. How does the sitter get into your home when you’re not there?
Through a pre-visit, the sitter can come to your home beforehand to meet your pet for the first time, get familiar with the care environment, and note where food bowls, litter boxes, and cleaning supplies are kept. During the pre-visit, you and the sitter can also discuss how to hand over a key — many owners arrange this through their building’s front desk.
2. How are pet sitters screened? Can I trust a stranger with my pet?
All pet sitters on Fluv are animal lovers with experience owning or volunteering with pets. They go through identity verification and training before becoming sitters. You can also browse each sitter’s ratings and reviews through Fluv’s review system to find someone you feel confident about.
3. Who is responsible if my pet gets injured?
Every booking includes insurance coverage. If an accident occurs during care, the pet sitter is responsible for compensation, with a self-pay deductible of NT$5,000. For amounts exceeding the deductible, Cathay Insurance provides additional medical coverage of up to NT$15,000.
4. My pet is shy around strangers — is a pet sitter still a good option?
If your pet is shy or takes time to warm up, a pre-visit is a great way to introduce them to the sitter before the actual care begins, helping build trust gradually. If you’re still unsure, you and the sitter can discuss together whether this arrangement is the right fit.
