Looking for recommended cat hotels in Beitou? Fluv has handpicked 9 top-rated pet hotels and cage-free cat boarding spaces for 2025 — with detailed info on environment, care quality, and pricing. We’ve also included local cat sitters and home boarding options to help you find the perfect stay for your pet.
What is a pet sitter?
A pet sitter is a caring individual with experience looking after dogs and cats who comes to your home to care for your pet. This model is already very popular in Western countries — platforms like Rover and PetBacker help pet owners find nearby, available pet sitters to visit their home. In Taiwan, Fluv offers a pet sitter matching service. Compared to traditional pet hotels, pet sitter matching is a more modern approach to pet care — sitters come to you, saving you drop-off and pick-up time, and your pet gets to stay in a familiar environment, reducing anxiety.
Many pet owners highly recommend pet sitter services. Fluv is Taiwan’s largest pet sitter platform.

Which pets are a good fit for pet sitter services?
In-home care
The pet sitter comes to your home to take care of your pet — feeding, tidying up, playing, and reporting back to you. You can schedule a free home visit in advance so the sitter can get familiar with the environment and meet your pet for the first time. Great for cats who dislike going out or dogs with mobility issues. If you have multiple pets, in-home care is also a cost-effective option that lets your pets stay active in their own familiar space.
Pet boarding & day care
Your pet stays at the sitter’s home, where they receive one-on-one care in a cozy residential setting — free to roam and play. Services include feeding, care, playtime, and regular updates to you. The key features are cage-free and fully customized care. Best for sociable, energetic dogs.
Long-term home boarding
A great alternative for owners who are away for extended periods and don’t want their pet caged in a pet hotel. Your pet stays with a sitter who maintains their daily routine — and even takes them out for walks while you’re gone. Ideal for owners with long-term travel needs.
Dog walking service
When you’re working late or something comes up unexpectedly and your dog needs to go outside, a pet sitter can step in for a walk. Even when you’re not home, your pup still gets to go out and burn off some energy. Perfect for medium to large, high-energy dogs like Huskies, mixed breeds, Border Collies, and Golden Retrievers.
Free home visit
Before committing to a booking, you can schedule a free home visit to meet the sitter, see the care environment, and let your pet warm up to them. Once everyone’s comfortable, you can go ahead and make a formal booking. No matter which service you choose, your pet sitter will send photo updates so you can see your furry friend even when you’re away — for total peace of mind!

Choosing between a pet hotel and a pet sitter
Both pet hotels and pet sitters are great options for caring for your pet — the right choice depends on your own needs and situation. If you’ll be away for an extended period or need your pet to adapt to an independent living environment, a pet hotel or home boarding could be a great fit. At a pet hotel, your pet receives professional care and management and gets to socialize and play with other dogs. With home boarding, your pet enjoys one-on-one, cage-free, fully customized care. Both options include regular updates so you can stay in the loop while you’re away. If you’re only going out briefly, or your pet doesn’t adapt well to new environments, an in-home pet sitter is probably the better choice — they come to your home, which reduces stress from environmental changes and lets your pet receive tailored care in familiar surroundings.

Pet sitter FAQ
1. How does the sitter get into your home when you’re not there?
Through a home visit arranged in advance, the sitter can come to your home for a first introduction to your pet, get familiar with the care environment, and learn where food bowls, litter boxes, and cleaning supplies are kept — all while getting to know your pet’s personality. During the visit, you can also discuss key handover arrangements, such as leaving a key with your building’s front desk.
2. How are pet sitters screened? Can I trust a stranger?
All pet sitters on Fluv are animal lovers with experience owning pets or volunteering for animal welfare. They go through identity verification and training before becoming a sitter. You can also check each sitter’s ratings and reviews through the Fluv review system to find someone you’re comfortable trusting.
3. Who is responsible if my pet gets injured?
Every booking includes insurance coverage. If an accident occurs during care, the pet sitter is responsible for compensation, with an excess of NT$3,000. For amounts exceeding the excess, Cathay Century Insurance provides additional medical coverage of up to NT$15,000.
4. My pet is very shy — is a pet sitter still a good fit?
If your pet is on the shy or slow-to-warm-up side, a home visit in advance can help them meet the sitter for the first time in a safe and comfortable setting, building trust gradually. If you still have concerns, the sitter and owner can discuss together whether this arrangement is the right fit. If your pet shows aggression, pet sitting may not be suitable — not only to protect the sitter, but also to prevent your pet from getting overstimulated and having an accident.
5. My pet needs medication or wound care — can a pet sitter help?
For any special requirements, you can look for a pet sitter who has listed medical care skills in their profile. You can also discuss the details directly with the sitter when booking and clearly explain all medical care instructions.
