Looking for a quality cat hotel in Taoyuan in 2025? Fluv handpicks cage-free cat accommodations, covering living environments, service details, and real pricing — plus recommendations for 3 local cat sitters, day-care options, and in-home boarding plans to help you arrange the perfect holiday care for your furry family member.
What is a pet sitter?
A pet sitter is a caring individual with hands-on experience looking after dogs and cats, who provides pet care within the owner’s home environment. This approach is already hugely popular in Western countries — companies like Rover and PetBacker help pet owners find nearby, available pet sitters to come to their home. In Taiwan, Fluv offers a similar in-home pet sitter matching service. Compared to traditional pet hotels, pet sitter matching is a more modern and convenient way for pet parents to care for their animals — sitters come to you, saving time on drop-offs and pick-ups, and letting your pet stay relaxed in a familiar environment.
Many pet owners highly recommend pet sitter care services. Fluv is Taiwan’s largest pet sitter platform.

Which pets are a good fit for a pet sitter?
In-home care
The pet sitter visits the owner’s home to provide care, including feeding, tidying the environment, playtime, and status updates to the owner. You can schedule a preliminary home visit in advance so the sitter can get familiar with the space and meet your pet for the first time.
Great for cats that dislike going out or dogs with limited mobility. It’s also an excellent, cost-effective option for households with multiple pets, letting them stay active in their own familiar surroundings.
Pet boarding and day care
Your pet stays at the sitter’s home and receives one-on-one care, with the freedom to roam around a home environment. Services include feeding, general care, playtime, and regular updates to the owner — with a cage-free, personalized approach.
Best suited for sociable pets with higher energy levels.
Long-term in-home care
A great alternative for owners who are away for an extended period and don’t want their pet caged at a pet hotel. A pet sitter maintains your pet’s daily routine and can even take them out for walks while you’re gone.
Ideal for owners with long-term travel needs.
Dog walking service
For times when work runs late or something unexpected comes up and your dog still needs to go outside, a pet sitter can step in to walk them. Even when you’re not home, a professional sitter can take your pup out for a good time.
Great for medium to large, high-energy dogs like Huskies, mixed breeds, Border Collies, Golden Retrievers, and more.
Free introductory home visit
Fluv offers a complimentary home visit before your first booking. This lets you meet the sitter, see the care environment, and let your pet warm up to them — so everyone feels comfortable before the service officially begins.
Regardless of which service you choose, your pet sitter will send you photo updates throughout, so you can see what your furry friend is up to even when you’re away — reassuring and heartwarming!

Pet sitter FAQ
1. How does the sitter get into your home when you’re not there?
Through a preliminary home visit, the sitter can come to your home beforehand to meet your pet for the first time, get familiar with the care environment, and learn where food bowls, litter boxes, and cleaning supplies are kept — while getting to know your pet’s personality.
During the visit, you and the sitter can discuss how to hand over a key. Many owners arrange this through their building’s front desk.
2. How are pet sitters vetted? Can I trust a stranger?
All pet sitters on Fluv are animal lovers with pet ownership or volunteer experience. They go through identity verification and training before becoming a sitter. You can also browse each sitter’s ratings and reviews through Fluv’s review system to find someone you feel comfortable trusting.
3. Who’s responsible if my pet gets injured?
Every booking includes insurance coverage. If an accident occurs during care, the pet sitter is responsible for compensation, with a deductible of NT$3,000. For costs exceeding the deductible, Cathay Century Insurance provides additional medical coverage up to NT$15,000.
4. My pet is shy — is a pet sitter still a good fit?
If your pet is on the shy or slow-to-warm side, a preliminary home visit is a great way to ease them in — letting them meet the sitter at home first and build a sense of trust. If you still have concerns, you and the sitter can discuss together whether the arrangement is a good fit.
If your pet tends to be aggressive, pet sitter services may not be the right choice — both to protect the sitter and to prevent your pet from becoming overly stressed or anxious.
5. My pet needs medication or wound care — can a pet sitter help?
For any special care needs, look for a pet sitter who has listed medical care skills in their profile. You can also discuss the details with your sitter when booking and make sure to clearly communicate all medical care instructions.
