[2025 Taipei Wanhua District Cat Hotel Recommendations] 9 Top-Rated Cat Boarding Options — Prices, Environment, Reviews + Cat Sitter Care Services | Fluv Picks

Looking for a well-reviewed cat hotel in Taipei’s Wanhua District? Fluv handpicks 9 high-quality cat boarding options, with details on pricing, environment, and care services — plus local cat sitter and pet boarding alternatives, so you can travel worry-free while your furry one gets the best care possible.

What is a home-based pet hotel, and how is it different from a regular pet hotel?

A pet sitter is a caring individual who already has experience looking after dogs and cats, and steps in when pet owners need help. This model is already very popular in Western countries — companies like Rover and PetBacker help owners find nearby, available pet sitters through their platforms. In Taiwan, Fluv offers a matching service for in-home pet sitters. Compared to traditional pet hotels, pet sitter matching is a more modern approach to pet care — it saves owners the hassle of drop-off and pick-up, and lets pets stay in a familiar environment to avoid anxiety. Services include in-home visits that keep your pet comfortable at home.

Fluv has also recently launched a home-based pet boarding matching service, letting pets stay with Fluv-vetted host families while their owners are travelling or abroad.

Which pets are a good fit for pet boarding services?

Pet boarding and day-care matching

Your pet stays with a verified Fluv host family in a cage-free environment, free to roam and play around the home. Services include feeding, care, playtime, and regular updates to owners. Key features: no caging, personalised care, and full insurance coverage throughout. With a third-party platform overseeing everything, you can travel with complete peace of mind!

《Ideal for pets whose owners don’t want them caged, who need multiple walks a day, or who have special care needs (e.g. medication, illness management)》

Long-term home care

A great option for owners who are away for extended periods and don’t want their pet confined in a pet hotel. Your pet is looked after by a fellow dog or cat lover, keeping up their daily routine even when you’re not around.

《Ideal for owners with long-term travel needs》

All services include a free pre-service home visit, so you can meet the carer and see the boarding environment before committing. Your pet gets to interact with the host and build a bond — once you’re happy, simply book the service.

Regardless of which service you choose, carers send photo updates to owners throughout — so even when you’re away, you can always see what your pet is up to. Reassuring and heartwarming!

[Professional in-home pet sitter — Wumao’s Mom]

Growing up, there were always dogs at home. Fourteen years ago, adopting an 8-year-old Beagle son started an irreversible journey — followed by a second Beagle daughter and 2 cats. In May 2020, her eldest dog suddenly passed away; in November, her son was diagnosed with cancer and also passed. Then her older cat developed urinary tract issues, and her younger cat had an asthma attack. These experiences opened her eyes to what pets go through when they’re sick, and inspired her to care for pets that need it most — always learning and growing to give them the best she can. Currently has 91 five-star reviews. Wumao’s Mom’s in-home pet sitter service is ideal for cats that aren’t used to new environments or tend to get anxious.

[Annie Lai] — Wanhua District

Annie’s overnight boarding service

I have a dachshund and a cat at home — I’ll decide whether to keep them separated based on how they get along.

✔️ Two-storey, two-bedroom, two-bathroom home with about 99 sqm of space

✔️ Pets are free to roam around the home

✔️ Free scooter pick-up and drop-off within 2km of Wanhua District’s Dali High School

✔️ I work from home, so someone is around most of the time

I only take one group of pets at a time. Each pet gets at least 33 sqm of private plus shared activity space. Pets can go anywhere except the bed. If a pet has accidents, I’ll put a diaper on them — sorry, but I’m unable to accommodate pets that have accidents and can’t wear diapers 😢

Pet boarding — common questions & FAQ

1. Can I trust the host families on the platform?

To list a boarding service on the Fluv platform, hosts must complete the following verification steps:

  • Information about their own pets (must have space to keep their pets separate from guest pets)
  • Whether someone is home 24 hours, or how many hours per day the pet would be unsupervised
  • Whether pick-up and drop-off is available, the service area, and any additional fees
  • Disclosure of circumstances under which a pet would be crated
  • Whether separate private and shared spaces are provided for pets
  • At least 3.3 sqm of activity space per pet
  • Photos of pet activity areas
  • Maximum number of pets accepted at one time
  • How many walks per day are provided
  • Where pets sleep and whether they are allowed on the bed
  • How accidents are handled
  • How aggressive behaviour is handled
  • Photo updates throughout the stay

2. How are host families screened? Can I trust a stranger?

All pet sitters on Fluv are animal lovers with pet ownership or volunteer experience. They are accepted onto the platform only after passing identity verification and an environment review. Owners can also read ratings and reviews from other users through the Fluv review system.

3. Who is responsible if my pet gets injured?

Every booking includes insurance. If an accident occurs during the boarding stay, the platform can facilitate the relevant insurance claim.
(Insurance and coverage details)

4. My pet is shy around strangers — is home boarding a good fit?

If your pet is shy or slow to warm up, you can arrange a pre-service home visit so they get a first introduction to the boarding environment and start building trust. It’s also a good idea to schedule a 1–2 hour day-care session first, letting your pet stay in the boarding space without you to get comfortable. If you still have concerns, you can discuss with the host family whether the arrangement is a good fit.

If your pet is aggressive, home boarding may not be suitable — to avoid stress or accidents from overstimulation.

5. My pet needs medication, wound care, or has a special medical condition — can the host help?

For any special requirements, discuss with the sitter at the time of booking whether they can provide the relevant care, and make sure to clearly communicate all medical care details and your pet’s health condition.
If possible, share the details of your pet’s primary vet clinic — that way, if any medical attention is needed during the stay, your pet can be taken to the vet who knows their history best.
